Whirlpool Corporation Brings Leadership, Innovation to Building Industry at PCBC 2018

Live product demos and eye-catching displays provided by a leading appliance manufacturer

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (June 26, 2018) – Whirlpool Corporation is showcasing its latest consumer-relevant innovations – such as Scan-to-Cook Technology for frozen foods[1] – to building industry representatives at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC) June 27–28 in San Francisco. Visitors to the Whirlpool Corporation booth (#927) can participate in several interactive product demonstrations, designed to showcase a variety of advanced connected capabilities across the company’s portfolio of brands.

“Purposeful innovation is the connecting element at Whirlpool Corporation,” said Bob Bergeth, general manager of Contract Builder Sales at Whirlpool Corporation. “We look forward to meeting with builders at PCBC to show them how these consumer-focused products and technological advancements can help them sell more homes.”

From live product demos of Yummly® image recognition technology (planned to launch later this year) to the industry-first Scan-to-Cook Technology, show attendees will experience the newest appliance solutions from Whirlpool Corporation. In addition, Jason Mathew, Whirlpool Corporation Senior Director, Global Connected Strategy, will be at the booth to highlight the features and functions the company is incorporating into its latest products to meet consumer demand for connectivity throughout the home.

Products at the Whirlpool Corporation booth include:

  • Whirlpool® Smart Front Control Range: See how Scan-to-Cook technology allows consumers to use a smartphone or tablet to get the right settings every time for select frozen foods[2] or make multi-step meals more simple with technology that sends multiple instructions to the oven all at once.[3]
  • Whirlpool® Smart Over the Range Microwave: The smart microwave includes features to help consumers better customize and multi-task during meal preparation. Its dynamic touchscreen learns, adapts and suggests customized presets based on usage. Consumers can also use smartphones or tablets to send multiple cooking instructions to the microwave all at once.[4]
  • Whirlpool® Smart All-In-One Care Washer and Dryer (coming soon): Each feature of the washer and dryer combo is designed to fill a real consumer need and remove guesswork. For example, the unit can be set to begin drying after the wash cycle completes, answering the need for less complex washing routines. [5] Also, the combo is compact, making it perfect for tight spaces where a separate washer and dryer might not fit.
  • KitchenAid® Smart Oven+ (coming soon): KitchenAid will introduce a single wall oven that comes with the first-ever collection of oven-powered attachments to enable grilling, stone cooking and steaming. See how each fits interchangeably into a provided heating element and base pan that connect into the back of the oven cavity.

Other Whirlpool Corporation products on display include the defiant new design expression from JennAir, RISE™. The RISE expression delivers luminary brilliance in a suite of precise, powerful appliances, including column refrigerators, built-in refrigerators, professional-style ranges, rangetops, cooktops, wall ovens, urban living offerings, dishwashers, and many others — each built for consumers who are unwilling to settle for the status quo.
